Nice, Amy. I not only felt your pain, I smelt your smoke. Great writing.

It’s interesting how we want so badly to help at a time like that. It’s certainly a good thing. I hope that personal/human reaction doesn’t eventually evaporate due to our government-organized response groups.

A guy in our critique group recently submitted his story about a sudden fire in his neighborhood where he actually went in the house and dragged out a body. One minute he’s relaxing in his favorite chair, the next he saving a life, then he’s sitting in his favorite chair again.

The unexpected is just that.

Well researched-I’m impressed with the info…never know why folks don’t invest more research into perennial crops that feed the soil instead of deplete it. there has to be a happy medium somewhere.

Some good news: Jimmy Kimmel has promised that the recent announcement will in no way deter him from continuing to wrestle with Clay Aikens on his show.

But who can not wonder how all those Claymates will react?

Perhaps the folks that entertained the wildly improbable fantasy that Clay was straight, are genetically related to those that support the equally improbable (oxymoronic?) concept of “self-regulation”.

As far as I can ascertain, both can be found under the umbrella category of “Delusional for self-serving purposes”.

Well said! One place where HFCS is definitely NOT used in moderation is in most school lunches. I’m not talking about the desserts or even the chocolate milk, but rather the pork, chicken and hamburgers. In addition to HFCS and many other sugars, these foodless entities also contain cheap soy extenders, way too much sodium, artificial colors, artificial flavors, and many names that disguise the presence of MSG.
